Dr. Neil R. Floch, is one of the country's most eminent Bariatric Surgeons. He graduated from Tufts University in 1988 with Magna cum Laude honors. He performed research at the Boston University School of Medicine and received his degree from them. He completed five years of surgical residency at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York, where he was the Chief Resident in Surgery.

Dr. Floch performed a one-year fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery at the Mayo Clinic with the pioneer of laparoscopic heartburn surgery, Dr. Ronald A. Hinder. He received advanced laparoscopic training in all aspects of abdominal surgery. He obtained the title of Associate attending St. Luke's Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida and he was an instructor at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida.

Dr. Floch was trained and proctored in laparoscopic bariatric surgery by Dr. Raul Rosenthal of The Cleveland Clinic in Weston, Florida. He has attended multiple laparoscopic training courses including the Mount Sinai Bariatric Course in N.Y.C. He has been trained and supervised by
Dr. George Fielding, a pioneer in the LAP-BAND® procedure, and is a choice provider of the Allergan company for placement of the LAP-BAND® system. He was proctored by Dr. John Kelley in the Realize™ band.
Dr. Neil Floch was proctored by Dr. Kaul of the New York Medical College School of Medicine in the Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy.

Dr. Floch is committed to treating new patients as well as those in need of revisional bariatric surgery. Dr Floch is the first fellowship trained advanced Laparoscopic Surgeon in Fairfield County. In addition to performing surgery he has used his skills to train many surgeons in the techniques of advanced laparoscopic surgery.

Dr. Floch's academic accomplishments include twenty-one original journal publications and five book chapters. He is currently on the Board of the Journal of Clinical Gastroenterology. As a coauthor and editor, he recently wrote several chapters on Weight Loss Surgery for the second edition of Netters Gastroeneterology which is published in over six languages. Currently, Dr. Neil Floch is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is a member of The Society of American Gastroendoscopic Surgeons and The Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons. He is certified by the American Board of Surgeons and licensed in New York, Connecticut and Florida. Dr. Floch is a Center of Excellence Certified Bariatric Surgeon by the Surgical Review Corporation.

Dr. Floch is the Director of Minimally Invasive Surgery and Bariatric Surgery at Norwalk Hospital and an attending surgeon at St. Vincent's Medical Center, and Bridgeport CT, and Griffin Hospital, Derby CT. He personally designed and instituted the first two advanced minimally invasive operating rooms in Fairfield County. He is an expert lecturer on the, laparoscopic bariatric surgery, laparoscopic Nissen fundoplication, laparoscopic paraesophageal hernia repair and reoperative Nissen fundoplication.

Dr. Floch is featured in the Consumer's Guide to Top Doctors as one of the 2009 Best Physicians as chosen by their peers. He is the surgeon of choice among many doctors and nurses who seek to have bariatric surgery for themselves. Dr. Floch has appeared on several television programs including Channel 12 Cablevison, Health Talk and Better Connecticut.

Dr. Craig L. Floch is the founder and senior partner of Fairfield County Bariatrics & Surgical Specialists, P.C. which has become one of the most prominent, dedicated, personal and highly respected practices serving all of Connecticut, New England and New York. He received his medical degree from The Chicago Medical School, University of Health Sciences.
Dr. Floch completed his five-year surgical training at Mount Sinai Hospital in Cleveland and Case Western Reserve University Hospital under the training of Dr. Jeffery Ponsky. He was Chief Resident of Surgery at Case Western Reserve University Hospital and obtained postdoctoral training in Laparoscopic Skills and Anti-Reflux Procedures at Yale University.

Dr. Floch has been trained in Laparoscopic Gastric Banding by Dr. George Fielding and proctored by Dr Edward Yatco of Lenox Hill in the Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy. Dr Floch is certified by the Allergan Company. He performs both Laparoscopic Banding, Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy and Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass surgeries. He is currently the Director of Bariatric Surgery at St. Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport and an attending surgeon at Norwalk Hospital, and Griffin Hospital in Derby CT. Dr. Floch has been an instructor in the Yale University/Norwalk Hospital Surgical P.A. teaching program and for several years received the Malcom S. Beinfield Award for Teaching Excellence in the Yale/Norwalk Surgical P.A. teaching program on three occasions. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is also a member of the American Medical Association, the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, the Connecticut State Medical Society, the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, the American Society of Breast Surgeons and on the Board of trustees of the Fairfield County Medical Association.

Ms. Miller is the daughter of Lt. General Thomas Miller (USMC), former head of Marine Aviation and the goddaughter of Senator John Glenn who wrote the forward for the book. Dr. Floch's interviews have been published on several internet sites and he has appeared on several television broadcasts including CT Style.

Dr. Abe Fridman

ABE FRIDMAN, D.O.

 

Dr. Abe Fridman is the newest member of Fairfield County Bariatrics & Surgical Specialists, P.C.. Dr. Fridman specializes in bariatric and general surgery. He also has been trained in Laparoscopic Foregut and surgery for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease.

Dr. Fridman comes to Fairfield County Bariatrics & Surgical Specialists, P.C. from New York City. He began his education at Cornell University and from there completed his medical studies at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his internship at Northshore/LIJ in New Hyde Park, New York. Dr. Fridman became a resident at SUNY Downstate in the General Surgery Program and finished the residency at Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. During his tenure at Lutheran Medical he was awarded the Sampath Kumar Award, given to the top surgical resident in the program.

Dr. Fridman completed his fellowship in Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic in Florida in June of 2012. He had the privilege of studying under Dr. Raul Rosenthal, a renowned Bariatric and General Surgeon, who is the Editor of the Bariatric Times, a nationally published medical journal. Dr. Fridman contributed to the studies and submitted articles for publication in the Bariatric Times. He also was selected to give an abstract presentation at the annual American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons this year held in San Diego, California.

During his fellowship, Dr. Fridman worked within the bariatric program and has participated in the care and surgical treatment of over a hundred cases including laparoscopic banding, gastric sleeve and Roux-en-Y gastric bypass procedures as well as revisional bariatric surgery. He followed patients from seminar to postoperative care and will be a
strong addition to our team.

In addition to the laparoscopic bariatric surgical procedures, Dr. Fridman is trained to perform laparoscopic fundoplications for the treatment of severe gastroesophageal reflux disease, laparoscopic cholecystectomies, appendectomies, hiatal hernia repairs for general surgical patients.

Dr. Fridman is a member of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons, the American Osteopathic Association and SAGES. He has participated in video presentations for both the ACS and SAGES. He has had articles published in the Bariatric Times and
also contributed a book chapter to a textbook of bariatric surgery to be published by the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons.

Dr. Fridman holds privileges at Norwalk Hospital, in Norwalk, Connecticut; St. Vincent’s Medical Center, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and Griffin Hospital in Derby CT. He is fluent in Russian, which is beneficial for our community and allows him to care for a greater population of patients.

PETER A. INGRALDI, MD, FACS

Dr. Peter A. Ingraldi is a partner of Fairfield County Bariatrics & Surgical Specialists, P.C. He joined our practice in 2007. Dr. Ingraldi specializes in general surgery and surgical critical care and is Board Certified in both fields. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and also holds memberships in the Society of Critical Care Medicine and the American Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition.

Dr. Ingraldi came to Fairfield County Bariatrics & Surgical Specialists, P.C. from New York City. He was trained at the School of Biomedical Education at the City College of New York and received his Bachelor of Science and the honorary award of cum laude and graduated in 1986. He continued his studies at the State University of New York at Stony Brook and completed his Doctorate in Medicine in 1988. He completed his residency and fellowship training at Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center in New York in 1994.

He began his career at Mount Sinai Services at Queens Hospital Center as an Assistant Attending in Surgery in 1994. He was held in high regard by his colleagues being voted the President of the Medical Staff Association at Queens Hospital Center from 1997-2000. In 1999, Dr. Ingraldi became an Associate Attending of Surgery, and then in 2000 he was appointed the Associate Director for the Department of Surgery at Queens Center Hospital until December of 2006. During this time Dr. Ingraldi also held the position of Chairman of the Nutrition Support Team and was Co-Director of the Intensive Care Unit. He held the appointment Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine.

In January of 2007 Dr. Ingraldi moved into private practice with FCBSS. He holds privileges at Norwalk Hospital, in Norwalk, and St. Vincent's Medical Center, in Bridgeport, Connecticut and Griffin Hospital, in Derby, Connecticut. He is fluent in medical Spanish and is bilingual, which is beneficial for our community allowing us to offer care to a greater population of patients.

At Norwalk Hospital, he has held the position of Chief of Surgical Intensive Care Unit for the past four years. He is focused in the practice of Acute Care Surgery and the management of complex critically ill and traumatically injured patients. He has an outstanding clinical record for the successful treatment of patients with large complex abdominal wall hernias.

Dr. Ingraldi is an integral part of Fairfield County Bariatrics & Surgical Specialists. He primarily focuses on general surgery cases, but supports Dr. Neil Floch and Dr. Craig Floch with their bariatric patients. Dr. Ingraldi assists with many bariatric cases and is able to participate in the acute care treatment of bariatric surgical patients. He is the"man behind the scenes who keeps our patients safe and sound," explained Dr. Neil Floch."Any great program is like an engine and Dr. Peter Ingraldi is that part that keeps our motor running smoothly."
