Gloria's Story

At 62 years old, only 4'11" and nearly 290 lbs, I'd lived with 40 years of failed diets, heart disease and high blood pressure. I was sure my life depended on this procedure. But because of my age and health, it took more than 2.5 years of counseling, medical tests, and paperwork to get my insurance provider to agree with me. The instant I woke from the operation, I knew all the struggle was worth it. Right away I began to lose weight and never felt much discomfort, or any hunger at all. I experienced something I'd never before in my life... I had to remind myself to eat!
