Lil's Story

To be totally honest when I first heard about gastric bypass surgery I said that I would never do it. It was not worth going under the knife, it was the sucker's way out. But after years of trying every fad diet you can think of and one year worth of research, prayer and soul searching I finally said I refuse to get any bigger, die from all the weight and Lord knows I did not to have to take dozens of pills everyday or for the rest of my life. This is the life my mother lives, she is currently taking 10 different medications. My family has a history of high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and heart disease just to name a few. I was blessed and at the time of surgery was only taking medication for cholesterol and blood pressure. Now I am not on any. I am much more active than before, have a greater appreciation for life and more confidence in myself. One can only image where I would be had I not had the surgery.
