Marko P. Lujic, M.D.
Dr. Marko Lujic is the newest member of Fairfield County Bariatrics & Surgical Specialists, P.C. He joined the practice on October 1, 2017. Dr. Lujic is a lifetime resident of North Haven, where he lives with his family and has strong ties to the community. He completed his undergraduate studies at Yale University in 2002. From there he went on to complete his Master’s Degree in Public Health in 2005 at St. George’s University. He then continued on to Medical School at St. George’s UMC and graduated in 2010.
Dr. Lujic returned to Connecticut and completed his Residency and Internship in General Surgery at St. Raphael’s/Yale New Haven Hospital, finishing in 2016. He was recognized as Intern of the Year in 2011 and Surgical Intensive Care Unit Resident of the Year in 2012.
Throughout Dr. Lujic’s academic career and beyond he has been an avid Lacrosse player. In 2001 he was selected for the US National Lacrosse Team. During his time at Yale, he was a member of the First Team All-Ivy Lacrosse as well as the First Team All-New England Lacrosse. He has been involved as a North Haven Youth Lacrosse Instructor since 2003 and continues to coach and work with kids in North Haven.
Prior to joining our team, Dr. Lujic had been in private practice and providing surgical services at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT. In conjunction with Dr. Lujic joining our practice, we are expanding our service area and are looking forward to serving the Milford community. Dr. Lujic will lead our initiative in Milford and will provide comprehensive general surgical services, including breast surgery, thyroid surgery and melanoma in addition to managing traditional general surgery consultations.
He is fluent in Croatian and has achieved Italian Proficiency.
